COSTA RICA WINTER GETAWAY

  • Day 1: Canada - San José (Costa Rica)

    Flight with a good itinerary.

    Arrival at the airport in San José. You will be greeted by our local representatives and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax at your hotel or explore San José.

  • Day 2: San José - Tortuguero

    Early departure toward the Caribbean coast. Breakfast will be offered at the hotel before departure and en route. Driving through the northern part of the country, you will see a beautiful landscape of tall mountains, rivers, and cloud forests. Upon arrival to the closest town near Tortuguero, you will embark on a boat ride to your hotel (approx. 90min). Through a series of canals, you might even spot a few exotic birds, monkeys, and caimans. After check-in and lunch at the hotel, you will start your exploration of the area with a visit to the town of Tortuguero. Return and dinner at the hotel. (Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner)

  • Day 3: Tortuguero National Park

    In the morning, after breakfast, you will be transferred to Tortuguero National Park for a boat tour where you will discover the rich biological diversity of this coastal zone. Located in a tropical climate, this remote conservation area consists of eleven different habitats, including rainforest, mangrove forests, swamps, beaches, and lagoons. It shelters seven species of turtle, a large variety of crustaceans and many species of freshwater fish. Through this morning excursion, you will be able to see birds, monkeys, caimans and much more! Following lunch, free time to relax at your hotel or opt for an optional tour that will be offered at destination. Dinner at the hotel. (Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner)  

  • Day 4: Tortuguero - Arenal Volcano National Park

    Following breakfast, you will board a boat for your transfer back to the pier. Continuation by bus to Guapiles, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Enjoying the scenery and countryside views along the ride, you will reach the town of La Fortuna in the Arenal area. Rest of the day free to enjoy the facilities of your hotel. Dinner at leisure. (Breakfast - Lunch)  

  • Day 5: Arenal Volcano National Park

    After breakfast, get ready to discover the secrets of what makes Costa Rican coffees and chocolates some of the best in the world. You will learn about the entire coffee process, from seed to cup, on this intuitive agricultural tour. On to the sweetest part of the activity, your guide will describe the entire chocolate process, before you will have the opportunity to taste several types of chocolates produced locally. Upon your return to the hotel, free time to opt for optional activities such as hiking in La Fortuna’ waterfall ($), go for a short hike to discover the infamous Arenal Volcano, or spotting sloths & toucans in their natural habitat ($). Dinner on your own. (Breakfast)

  • Day 6: Arenal Volcano National Park - Monteverde

    Breakfast at the hotel before departing toward Monteverde. You will drive around Lake Arenal, taking in amazing views of the Volcano and surrounding nature, where a few local communities perched in the mountains remain. Upon arrival in Monteverde, you can walk around the hotel or go for a walk in the little town of Monteverde (approx. 20 min walk). We recommend going to a viewpoint near the hotel to watch a beautiful sunset. Evening at leisure. (Breakfast)  

  • Day 7: Monteverde

    After breakfast, you will discover the beauty of Costa Rican forests on the first hanging bridges built in the country. This guided adventure will bring you on trails and amazing hanging bridges through the dense cloud forests of Monteverde. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience with the surrounding flora and fauna at every level of these magical tropical rainforests. Lunch and rest of the day at leisure. In the afternoon, you can book a zipline excursion ($) in the cloud forest of Monteverde. In the evening, you can opt for a night walk ($) to meet wildlife and potentially see frogs, sleeping birds, scorpions, insects, and more. Dinner at your convenience. (Breakfast)

  • Day 8: Monteverde – Central Pacific area

    Breakfast at the hotel. Head to the Pacific coast, where the final part of your trip will be more independent. Arrival at the hotel around 1:00 PM for check-in. The rest of the day is free to enjoy the hotel facilities or relax at the nearby beach. (Breakfast) 

  • Day 9: Central Pacific area - Optional full-day tour to Manuel Antonio National Park

    Breakfast at the hotel. Full day free to relax at your hotel or at the beach. You can also opt for an optional full-day tour to Manuel Antonio National Park ($). (Breakfast)

    Explore the pristine natural beauty of this most visited national park filled with exotic wildlife such as monkeys, sloths, birds, reptiles, and butterflies. Your picturesque 2-mile hike will take you to one of the beaches named “Most beautiful beach in the world” by Forbes magazine. Experience the lush rainforest behind you, white-sand beaches below, and crystal-clear waters during this refreshing beach stop. Have your camera ready, as your knowledgeable guide sets his trained eyes on diverse flora and fauna for you to capture along the way.

  • Day 10: Central Pacific area - San José

How much of a deposit is required?

You need to make a 50% deposit upon reservation to secure your seats. If your departure is in less than 60 days, the full amount is due when booking.

When is the balance due?

The balance is due 60 days prior to the departure date.

What is the group size?

Groups are around 25 people.

Is it a guaranteed departure?

Yes, all our departures are guaranteed.

Is triple occupancy available?

Yes. The price is the same for the 3rd passenger unless it is a child aged between 0 and 9 years old (at the time of the travel).

Is single occupancy available ?

Yes, you can book a single room for this tour, offering you comfort and privacy in your own space. Please note that single rooms are thoughtfully designed to offer a cozy and comfortable stay, typically featuring a single bed and a space slightly smaller than a standard double room.

Will there be someone waiting for us at the airport?

Yes, our local operators will welcome you at the gate holding a sign with your name on it. You will be transfered to the hotel.

Is it possible to book additional tours?

Is the bus equipped with toilets, AC, Wi-fi?

Yes, the bus has AC and Wi-Fi. Also, the tour makes frequent rest stops. Please note that the Wi-Fi signal is not strong while traveling between different regions

Visa: No visa is required for Canadian or US citizens.
